IAA and Republic Airways team up to support youth mentoring at ACE aviation academy   

From July 23-27, the IAA partnered with Indianapolis-based Republic Airways in sponsoring and hosting the second annual aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy at IND. The ACE academy is a nationally recognized and FAA-endorsed mentoring and educational program, offering unique opportunities for local students to receive career mentoring from aviation professionals.

Dedicated to competing for the minds, imaginations and career ambitions of underserved students between the ages of 13 and 18, the ACE Academy keeps students fully engaged through hands-on, real-world activities and mentoring from active industry professionals. Classes introduce aviation concepts that can help students plan their career development. Course material also helps improve science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills, which are highly prized by many employers within the aviation field and beyond. 31 students took advantage of the program this summer.
