In May, IND hosted a delegation of Kenyan airport officials visiting the United States during a reverse trade mission. The group toured facilities including the Midfield Terminal, the Airport Operations Center, the Airline Services Building, and the site of the airport solar farm, which will begin development this year. IAA personnel advised the delegation on best practices developed during the planning and construction of one of the first new terminals to be designed and opened in the post 9/11 security environment. They also focused on the airport’s advanced sustainability initiatives.
